The results are in and we couldn't be more pleased. The first annual Krogen Photo Contest generated quite a response from Krogen owners. The contest, which was announced in the summer 2006 issue of Waypoints, consisted of photographs of Krogen trawler yachts in their captivating moments of travel. Participants were asked to send in their entries for review. So began the influx of images including breathtaking sunsets, wonderous landscapes and inspiring destinations. The all-but-tedious task of judging these amazing shots lead to hours of daydreaming for the staff here at Kadey-Krogen Yachts, and although determining the winners proved difficult, deciding where we long to vacation came easily!
A big thank you to all who participated, and to those that missed the boat, stay tuned for more information on this year's contest. To view the contest photographs for Second and Third prize winners as well as honorable mentions please chlick here: http://kadeykrogen.com/photos
First Prize Congratulations to the First Prize winner, Betsy Basch, who wins a $500 West Marine gift certificate. The photo was taken aboard her Krogen 42' "Molly Blossom" of the Krogen 42' "Sabo", then owned by Bob Erskine, as she emerges from the eerie, fog-filled night resembling a pirate ship from her quest to the open sea.
Second Prize Second Prize, a $250 gift certificate, goes to Mike Ford for a glimpse from his Krogen 44' "Number One", off San Marte in Mexico. As the sunlight reflects from the red rock and the still water, we are reminded of the pure simplicity to be enjoyed while cruising.
Third Prize And Third Prize goes to Jack and Jo Brinckerhoff for capturing the tranquility of early morning as seen from their Krogen 39' "Bodacious" and Chuck and Barb Shipley's 48' North Sea, "Tusen Takk II". The timing of the light of an awakening day couldn't be nicer. Congratulations and a $100 gift certificate to the Brinckerhoffs.
